One of my favourite places for a good value holiday is Tenerife. Here is my brief guide to Tenerife:

Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands is popular with tens of thousands of British and German holiday makers each year who make the most of the fabulous weather, beaches and nightlife. Spanish tourists flock here too, and in addition to the beach resorts, the island is rich with natural attractions including forests, desert, mountains, rugged coastline and volcanoes. Tenerife is also a favourite with scuba divers and the waters are suitable all year round. Surfing and other water sports are available in the south of the island in particular.

The main cites include the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife to the north of the island, Costa Adeje, Puerto de la Cruz (home to the Loro Parque Zoo), La Laguna (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and the beach resorts of Los Gigantes and Las Americas Visitors also head to the Tenerife Zoo Monkey Park and to see the volcanic rock formations at Parque Nacional Las Canadas del Teide. El Tiede is the highest mountain in Spain and is a demanding hike for even the most experienced. There is a cable car too and the summit offers some amazing views across the island.
